Continuing our tour of developers from "the Continent," I present to you our sole Swede, Christer Janson!

Q: Who are you and why are you here?
A: My name is Christer – and I have the honor of being the only Swede on the team. I have been with Autodesk for just over 17 years and I have worked on many products including AutoCAD and 3D Studio MAX. I’m a developer because I love problem solving and tinkering with computers and technology in general.

Q: What parts of the application do you work on?
A:I’m the behind-the-scenes guy working on the internals, or “the core”, of Impression. I work on things like load and save, general performance, and how objects and blocks are represented, stored and relates to each other on the inside.

Q: What has been the most exciting part of working on Impression?
    A. For me it has been very exciting to work on something brand new from scratch– a program that didn’t’ exist before and see users get excited about it. I’ve had plenty of “aha” moments, and quite a few “doh” moments too, when I think of something in a different way that makes a seemingly impossible task suddenly simple.

Q: Stats – How many cups of coffee do you have a day? How many animals occupy your office? Anything interesting like that…
A: Coffee? Yes by all means. I have been known to enjoy three, four cups a day – but I also believe I am more or less immune to caffeine so it’s just for taste. My commute to the office is about 5 minutes, but I also work from home those days when even 5 minutes seems too long. I have not only a brother, but also a wife working for Autodesk and perhaps in 20 years or so we’ll see if our daughter start here to…

And here is Christer enjoying something other that performance improvements on Impression...
