- Area Fill Wisdom Revealed!
-
This tip is so good I thought it should be brought up to the larger audience. It's hijacked from a reply post by Impression Developer Scott Morrision "There is a faster way to do an Area Fill if the start-up time for the tool is too long. If you stay in the select tool, you can drag a style from the styles palette directly onto empty space on the canvas. This also creates an Area Fill. This method avoids the costly startup time required by the tool. The start-up time is pre-computing some things to make the area preview work faster in the tool. Since the drag-and-drop method doesn't use a preview, we avoid that cost."

Don't forget to trim, remove or freeze all unnecessary info/items/layers from a CAD drawing before importing. Impression will respond quicker and be more of a pleasure to work with.
