- Area Fill Wisdom Revealed!
-
This tip is so good I thought it should be brought up to the larger audience. It's hijacked from a reply post by Impression Developer Scott Morrision "There is a faster way to do an Area Fill if the start-up time for the tool is too long. If you stay in the select tool, you can drag a style from the styles palette directly onto empty space on the canvas. This also creates an Area Fill. This method avoids the costly startup time required by the tool. The start-up time is pre-computing some things to make the area preview work faster in the tool. Since the drag-and-drop method doesn't use a preview, we avoid that cost."

- How do you change lineweights in Impression?
-
Impression works with styles, so you can change the style for a layer (or for a particular object) using the Style Editor. In the Layers palette, double-click the Style icon next to open this style ditor editing in the editing panel (right underneath the Layers palette). You can change lineweight by giving the stroke a heavier weight - click the arrow to the left of the Stroke you want to edit to open its parameters, then change the Weight setting to something higher. Alternatively, you can use the CTB/STB settings from your CAD file. Open your DWG into Impression, then in the Open Layouts dialog you can specify which CTB or STB file you'd like to use. That will retain your Autocad settings in the Impression file.
